The area surrounding the city of Lugano, with its hills and mountains, is a true hiker’s paradise. Over 900 kilometres of official hiking trails criss-cross the region, complemented by several theme trails and numerous scenic mountains. The many villages surrounding the city are also waiting to be discovered. The diversity of the trails, which vary in difficulty and pass through a wide range of landscapes, makes this area a unique destination for walking and experiencing nature up close. At the same time, the region’s cultural heritage, characteristic and traditional charm enrich the experience of discovering the Lugano region in the gentlest way: on foot and immersed in lush nature.
